Linda Kowalcky
Graduate Program Director of the Practice in Public Policy and Urban Affairs
Linda Kowalcky teaches public policy, public administration, and works with Northeastern University’s CSSH internship programs. Her career includes senior positions in government as well as academia. Most recently, Linda served as liaison to higher education to former Boston Mayor Thomas Menino, with responsibility for higher education policy, city-university partnerships, and campus planning for the 34 colleges and universities in Boston. She also served as senior staff in the U.S. House of Representatives. Linda previously taught American government and public policy as an assistant professor of political science at the University of Missouri-St. Louis, and has also taught at Wellesley College, Northeastern University, and the University of Pennsylvania.

Dele Shokunbi graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Economics from Northeastern Illinois University and an MBA from the Keller Graduate School of Management. He has been working in the higher education industry for 13 years. He is very passionate about education and enjoys assisting students with accomplishing their educational goals.

Gregory Zimmerman
Associate Professor of Criminology and Criminal Justice; Master’s Program Director; Director of Big Data and Quantitative Methods Initiatives
Gregory M. Zimmerman is the master’s program director and an associate professor in the School of Criminology and Criminal Justice. He was recently appointed as the director of big data and quantitative methods initiatives within the College of Social Sciences and Humanities. Zimmerman’s record combines strong commitment to graduate education with leading research on the spatial distribution of crime. His scholarship examines the intersection of psychological risk factors for violent offending and familial, peer, and neighborhood ecologies.

Julianne Hawks has 15 years of experience working in higher education admissions. As an admissions counselor for Northeastern University’s CSSH programs, Julianne is passionate about assisting students through the admissions process with a graduate program that aligns with their career objectives. Julianne holds a bachelor’s degree with double majors in fashion design and fashion merchandising and double minors in studio art and business administration from Dominican University in River Forest, Illinois.
